Staff Spotlight ~ Jill Lorenzo

We are proud to shine a spotlight on Jill Lorenzo, a 2nd-grade teacher's Aide and an EXCEL leader for the after-school program at Norman G. Ambrosini Elementary School. Jill has worked in education for the past 26 plus years, all of them here in our district, starting in the EXCEL program at Town School before transferring to Ambrosini. Over nearly three decades, Jill has supported our school community in multiple roles, including working in the kitchen for ten years and serving as a classroom aide primarily for kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grades.
Principal Angela Schuetzle shares, “Jill has a way of connecting with all students. They see her as a positive and supportive person in their lives. She cares deeply about the students and gives that extra bit of care to those who need it. She has a positive attitude that is felt throughout our campus.” Her supportive nature, steady presence, and willingness to jump in wherever needed help make Ambrosini a welcoming place for everyone.
Jill loves seeing students push themselves and discover what they’re capable of. She says, “What I love most about my job is how rewarding it is to watch children grow and succeed. Being part of their development, both academically and personally, is incredibly meaningful. I also connect well with the kids because I remember what it was like to be in their shoes, which helps me build strong, positive relationships with them.”
A fun fact about Jill is that she has four granddaughters, four grandsons, a grand-dog, and she enjoys spending her summers traveling with her family. At home, she also cares for 30 chickens, which has earned her the affectionate nickname "Grandma Chicken" from her grandkids.
Jill is an important part of the Ambrosini community 🐝. We appreciate her!
